Hypothyroidism, Cretinism, Nontoxic goitre, myxoe-dema, coma.
After oral administration absorbed well and metabolised in liver.
Cardiac disease. Thyrotoxicosis.
Palpitation, osteoporosis, angina, tremors, thyrotoxicosis, allergic reaction, headache, tachycardia, diarrhoea, restlessness, sweating, loss of weight and muscle weakness.
Coronary heart disease, ECG changes of myocardial infarction. In patients with adrenal insufficiency, first corticosteroid therapy should be given followed by thyroxine.
