It is a cytotoxic of polyfunctional alkylating type related to nitrogen mustard. Its radiomimetic action is believed to occur through the release of ethyleneimine radicals which, like irradiation, disrupt the bonds of DNA. Tissue concentration studies have, however, reported that thiotepa has no differential affinity for neoplasms.
Adenocracinoma of breast, adenocarcinoma of ovary, intracavitary effusions secondary to diffuse or localized neoplastic diseases of various serosal, recurrent superficial bladder tumours.
Bone marrow depression, acute infections, hypersens, pregnancy and lactation.
Bone marrow suppression, secondary malignancy. irreversible hypo plastic anaemia, headache, dizziness, allergy, impaired fertility, hypersensitivity reaction.
Severe hepatic / renal dysfunction, regular blood counts.
Action of Succinyl choline enhanced.
0.3 - 0.4 mg / kg at 1-4 week intervals.
0.5mg / 0.5ml Injection, 10 amps per box.
